John Blogher - Fireman 1st Class

John Blogher was born circa 1844 in Germany and enlisted on 30 December 1863 at the Erie, PA Naval Rendezvous as a Fireman 1st Class for a 1 year term.[1]

Blogher first served at Naval Station New York and later was attached to the Tecumseh [2]. He was reported lost with her during the Battle of Mobile Bay on 5 August 1864 as reported in a Navy casualty lists.[3], [4].

He was approximately 19 years old and had been in the Navy for seven months.
