Henry Fletcher - Fireman 1st Class

Henry Fletcher was born circa 1836 in England and enlisted on 23 February 1864 at the 14th State Street, New York, NY Naval Rendezvous as a Fireman 1st Class for a 1 year enlistment[1].

Fletcher was attached to the Tecumseh on 25 April 1864 [2]. He was reported lost with her during the Battle of Mobile Bay on 5 August 1864 as reported in Navy casualty lists.[3], [4].

He was approximately 28 years old and had been in the Navy for just over six months.
