Edward Walker - Quartermaster

Edward Walker was born circa 1830. He enlisted on 16 April 1864 at the New York Naval Rendezvous and was attached to the Tecumseh as a petty officer with the rating of quartermaster on 20 April 1864 [1].

Walker was admitted to Naval Hospital New York on 22 April 1864 with pneumonia [2]. He was discharged to duty 4 May 1864 and attached to the U.S.S. Augusta as a captain of the afterguard. Per his rendezvous index card and the Augusta's deck log transcribed in court martial records for LT C. M. Schoonmaker of the Augusta, Walker deserted on 20 October 1864.
